When is the best time to visit Tampa, FL?

Tampa is best visited between September and December. Vacant hotels offer fire-sale pricing during the critical four months of the year to get you in. The months of May through August are the busiest for local sites, and the weather may be oppressively hot.

Getting Around

It is strongly advised that you rent a car to visit the sites. All the major car rental companies are present at the airport, including Avis and Hertz, in the red baggage claim area and across the walkway in the blue baggage claim area. Parking in Tampa is relatively straightforward, whether you want to park on the street or in one of the many garages.
